She joined Zuma in 2025, where she supervises U Visa cases and works closely with law enforcement in the U Certification process as well as focusing on removal defense proceedings. As an immigrant herself, Sofia brings a deep personal connection to her work. She finds fulfillment in providing hope to clients navigating the path toward legal status in the United States.

Sofia earned her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, where she served as a Senior Editor for the Journal of International Law and Business and trained as a certified mediator. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, cum laude, from Georgetown University. Early in her career, she clerked for the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, contributing to landmark international war crimes trials.

Her professional experience includes serving as a federal attorney for the U.S. Department of Commerce, practicing at national law firms in Chicago, and advising corporations on compliance and governance. Fluent in English and Russian, with a basic understanding of Spanish, Sofia combines a global perspective, federal legal experience, and broad expertise to advocate for clients at Zuma Law.
